Sound By Lisa Walden

Our sound is especially important to us as the music we choose to incorporate, portrays our character's inner feelings and emotions. Classical music was our choice of sound as it reflects in the interests of our character. We really want the audience to connect with the young man, learning everything about him.
We researched into the genre of classical music trying to find a piece that would suit our story. Finding a piece that denotes how our character feels can often be troublesome at times, as most pieces often have too much or too little of a beat. Finding that perfect tune to fit the mood of our film is something that we opt in doing.

We listened to various amounts of different styles of classical pieces to see which one would be a winner in our film. After much listening and note-taking we finally opted for a piece that defines our characters characteristics and emotions portrayed in the film. The piece starts off slow , but with a rhythm so it introduces the audience to just how our character is feeling. We had a slight bumpy journey when it comes to selecting the right sounds, as we've often chosen pieces that are too happy and loud for the story. So, we made sure that for our short film we chose the perfect sound to marry excellently with what is in the film.

This is a Youtube clip of some classical music that could be played throughout our short film. We want to choose music that defines our characters mood, because a film that lacks in character speech needs touching music to fill those gaps.

This classical piece is going to run throughout our entire film; we felt that this was the right choice to make as it will establish the music that our character likes and will enable the audience to be left with a definition of who he is. Along with this classical piece we have incorporated small snippits of various sounds, which are of course relevant, so that we create sounds that are realistic, telling a meaningful story. For example, to create a realistic shouting and agressive sound, we self recorded an angry conversation which we have then added as the sound of his sister when she enters his room complaining about his choice of music and read of magazines.
